Dedicated to traditional craft combining illustration and print, Jan Jay Design offers a variety of lifestyle and homeware products as well as statement interior pieces.
Jan’s passion for fabric, print, textiles and furnishings is heavily influenced by her background and ongoing work in Interior Design.
“Over the years I have been incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some of the most skilled craftsmen the UK has to offer. Nothing is more fulfilling than making a space aesthetically beautiful, combining carefully selected and thoughtfully made furnishings and products that will be used and enjoyed by many generations to come”
As well as selling her range of limited edition prints, bags and accessories, summer 2019 sees Jan launch her range of beautiful and bold furnishing fabric designs printed onto linen and linen union. Her designs boast strong colour juxtaposed with a natural oatmeal base, and her subject matter is strongly influenced by her home and surroundings in rural Herefordshire, with its abundance of flora and fauna.
“It’s incredibly exciting to see my first set of designs launch in 2019. It’s been on the cards for a little while now, but it’s just had to simmer away alongside my other design work and raising a young family! As well as working on the hand drawn illustrations, it’s been incredibly important to source a beautiful base cloth that represented my designs and their original hand printed finish.
Now the result is a range of fabrics that are suitable for soft furnishings and general upholstery, available in two colour palettes. The ‘Artisan’ with its rich hues of Slate Blue, Dijon, Forest and Damson, and then ‘Contemporary’ with its brighter playful shades of Emerald, Fuchsia and Royal Blue.
And if that isn’t enough, you can always contact Jan directly to discuss a bespoke colourway or commission a new design that will fit your scheme perfectly.
